The cottage

Ashbridge Cottage is on the top of a hill on the south side of the Isle of Wight.  We have fantastic 360 views of the rural countryside in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  We have very spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

We try to be as self-sufficient as possible and grow vegetables and fruit in the garden.

Our hens have free range of the garden and provide us with enough eggs to keep us fed and our b&b guests.

In 2017 we incubated eggs to start a flock of Poulet Bresse.    We currently have a cockerel and 5 hens and we are incubating more eggs so hopefully there will be more soon.

In May 2016 we became goat keepers and took possession of Mollie and her 5 day old kid Bertie.     We make cheese each week and yoghurt from goats milk.

In April 2018 Mollie gave birth to two more kids, Maisie and Ben.  Sadly Mollie died in 2018 and in November 2018 Pierah, a Golden Guersney/Anglo Nubian cross joined the herd.20180408_123858

We also keep a couple of pigs each summer to fatten up.  They have a large paddock and spend their days running around having a great deal of fun.

We are on Airbnb and do B&B in one room in our house.   If you are interested please go onto airbnb  and have a look at what we offer at our B&B
